LAST TUESDAYS: THE ROAD TO FAME WEEK AFRICA STARTS HERE
Â
Launching this March, Last Tuesdays is a curated monthly gathering created for the Johannesburg creative community.
Hosted at Media Valley, this series offers a consistent industry touchpoint at home. It is a space to connect, collaborate and build momentum ahead of FAME Week Africa in Cape Town. Each session will feature curated screenings, focused panel discussions, practical industry insights and meaningful networking opportunities designed to spark real partnerships.
THE EXPERIENCE
Expect welcome drinks and open networking (the good kind, not the awkward kind), a snack or two to keep energy levels high, and a fireside chat featuring industry voices sharing real insights, not recycled soundbites. Some editions may include guest-led mini-masterclasses, community shout-outs, and space for project sharing — because someone in the room might just be your next collaboration.
There’s always time carved out for meaningful follow-up conversations — the ones that start with “we should…” and end with “let’s do it.”
Some evenings may also include a flexible screening component: emerging filmmaker showcases, preview screenings of upcoming projects, festival highlights, partner spotlights, and informal Q&A sessions where feedback is honest, generous and useful.
LAST TUESDAYS is part networking hub, part creative playground — and entirely about building momentum on the road to FAME Week Africa.
THE PURPOSE
LAST TUESDAYS is built around four pillars:
- Networking – real conversations, new relationships, unexpected collaborations
- Learning – short talks, insights, trend-sharing, and practical takeaways
- Sharing – a space to showcase projects, celebrate wins, and support growth
- Screenings – curated moments to experience new work and spark discussion
