APPLY FOR A BURSARY FROM KZN TOURISM AND FILM AUTHORITY

KZN Tourism and Film Authority Bursary Call

The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority is inviting students to apply for bursaries that will be awarded for the 2026 academic year. Bursaries will be considered for study including but not limited to; Film and TV production, acting for screen, digital skills (Gaming, VFX, VR, AR), and tourism related studies at a recognised KwaZulu-Natal tertiary institution. 

 

PREFERENCE GIVEN TO:

  • Previously Disadvantaged Individuals
  • People Living with Disabilities
  • Applicants who study Film and TV production, animation, acting for screen, digital skills (Gaming, VFX, VR, AR), and tourism related studies e.g. Heritage and Cultural Tourism Studies, Eco-Tourism, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management.
  • Post-Graduate bursary is considered for Animation ONLY. 

 

BURSARY OFFERS:

  • Full tuition for public universities.
  • Tuition fees for private institutions are capped at government rates.
  • A monthly allowance of R1 500.00
  • Accommodation for students living at least 50kms+ away from the school. 

 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Applicants must be accepted to study Film and TV production, animation, acting for screen, digital skills (Gaming, VFX, VR, AR), and tourism related studies e.g. Heritage and Cultural Tourism Studies, Eco-Tourism, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management
  • Must be Residents of KwaZulu-Natal Province
  • South African Citizens
