TRUMP ORDERS 100% TARIFF ON MOVIES MADE ABROAD

US President Donald Trump has announced a 100% tariff on all films produced outside the United States, arguing that Hollywood is being “devastated” by a trend of American filmmakers and studios relocating their work abroad.
“I am authorising the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to immediately initiate a 100 percent tariff on any and all movies entering our country that are produced in foreign lands,” he stated on his Truth Social platform.
“The movie industry in America is DYING a very fast death. Other countries are offering numerous incentives to lure our filmmakers and studios away from the United States,” Trump wrote.
He added, “Hollywood, along with many other sectors within the U.S.A., is being devastated.”
“WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!”
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on X: “We’re on it.”
The implications for the movie industry and the specifics of how these tariffs would be implemented remain unclear. Neither Lutnick nor Trump provided any details..
