STAR WARS DAY WAS EPIC!

The final day of Comic Con Cape Town wrapped up in true galactic style on Star Wars Day!  From lightsabers to full Jedi robes, fans brought the Force to the show floor with epic cosplay, themed photo ops, and out-of-this-world energy. Panels, merch, and meet-ups had Star Wars fans buzzing, and the presence of the legendary Ian McDiarmid – aka Emperor Palpatine himself- made the day even more iconic!

COSPLAY CHAMP!

The grand finale of Comic Con Cape Town 2025 crowned a new Cosplay Champion—Geekigear cosplay! 🏆 After fierce competition and incredible creativity on display throughout the event, Geekigear cosplay left the crowd in awe, proving they have what it takes to shine on bigger stages.

CALLSHEET EDITOR AT COMIC CON CAPE TOWN!

Riana Andrews, the Callsheet editor, kicked off Day 1 of Comic Con Cape Town with an exciting panel discussion featuring the crème de la crème of Cape Town’s film industry! 🎬 Joining her were Monica Rorvik from Wesgro, Lance Gibbons, CEO of Filmset, Vlokkie Gordon, CEO of Advantage Entertainment, and Lisa Mini, Principal Film Officer at Film Cape Town. The discussion, titled “Exploring Cape Town’s Epic Film Locations,” delved into the Mother City’s stunning array of locales and its shining reputation as a film-friendly hub, inspiring content creators to dive into this vibrant industry.

The Last of Us Experience had fans spellbound with its immersive magic, leaving everyone in awe. Over at the Netflix Squid Game Experience, fans were on the edge of their seats, fully immersed in intense and thrilling challenges! Meanwhile, the HintHunt escape games, Mew activation, LEGO displays, and Dance Dance Revolution kept fans entertained all day long!

BUZZING ACTIONS & COLLECTORS’ SHOPPING!

Comic Con Cape Town was a shopper’s paradise, offering a diverse range of merchandise for fans of all ages. From exclusive collectibles and limited-edition items to handcrafted artwork and custom-made costumes, there was something for everyone. Attendees could browse through the vendor hall, haggle with merchants, and discover hidden gems amidst the bustling crowd. Whether you were a seasoned collector or a casual fan, Comic Con Cape Town provided an unforgettable shopping experience.

FANS FLOCK TO MEET ANIME ROYALTY!

Aki Dearest and Joey The Anime Man brought major anime energy to the floor with a lively Q&A, fun quiz, and prizes all the way from Japan! 🎌 Fans lined up for autographs, selfies, and a chance to chat with two of YouTube’s biggest anime creators. From hilarious behind-the-scenes stories to heartfelt fan moments during their Q&A session, Aki and Joey kept the crowd laughing, cheering, and fully engaged. It was an unforgettable day for otakus, content creator stans, and anyone who lives and breathes anime culture.
